Cinco de Moo-yo

Cinco de Moo-yo ... oops, we mean de Mayo ... is a great excuse to drink a Corona with a slice of lime.

The holiday commemorates a victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

However, we know this isn't really celebrated in Mexico, but mostly in the U.S. as an excuse to drink a lot of Mexican beer and swat at Chinese-made piñadas.

Viva la cerveza!

Splendor in the grass

In honor of Earth Day, we're celebrating by frolicking in the grass. As cows, we hope there's an awful lot of grass still to come.

KU Moo!!!

Go Jayhawks!!!!

A long time coming, but Kansas finally got the national championship. Lunch is soooooo happy that he's just mooing like crazy. Hard to restrain him.

A real hoof-biter of a game, but the Jayhawks defeated the Memphis Tigers 75-68 in overtime for all the marbles.

Wish we were with the cows in Lawrence tonight.

Cows fight back

After being surrounded by a flock of deranged Peeps, Snack and I barely escaped. But we managed to cull several from the flock and herded them into the microwave. Forty-five seconds later, they were no longer a threat---they were an omelet.

When Peeps attack. . .

It's Easter! How do we know? Peeps tried to attack us this morning!

What ARE these insidious yellow creatures??? They came out of nowhere as we were minding our own business, munching our morning grass. The next thing we knew, we were surrounded by hundreds of them! Snack mooed and ran for the log. I followed close behind and tried to protect her.

Somehow we half expected chocolate bunnies to scamper into our lives. Chocolate bunnies are sweet. They're friendly. They taste really good.

But no, we get attacked by Peeps! Sticky, yellow, marshmallowy Peeps.

Life just isn't fair.

Blarney for Bovines

St. Paddy's Day is the perfect day for us to celebrate our debut as Bovine Bloggers.

We are Lunch and Snack -- two cows in love who have been together since 2002. I'm Lunch, the bigger cow, and I'm originally from Whistler, British Columbia. Snack is the little cow, and she's from Seattle, Washington. But we've found a way to be Irish today, March 17.

We are world travelers -- we have good taste in beer and big thirsts to match. Check out our very own website, LunchAndSnack.com. But right here on this blog, we'll show you some of our favorite photos and talk about our lives. We live in Port Angeles, Washington, but have a bad case of wanderlust. Check back often to see what we're up to from week to week.
